“Into the Woods”

Female Solo audition: Little Red Riding Hood

Lyrics:
Mother said, “Straight a-head!” Not to delay or be misled.  I should have heeded her advice…  But he seemed so nice.
And he showed me things, many beautiful things, that I hadn’t thought to explore.  They were off my path so I never had dared.  I had been so careful I never had cared.  And he made me feel excited – well, excited and scared.

Male Solo audition: Jack

Lyrics:
When you’re way up high and you look below at the world you’ve left and the things you know, little more than a glance is enough to show you just how small your are.
When you’re way up high and you’re on your own in a world like none that you’ve ever known, where the sky is lead and the earth is stone, you’re free to do whatever pleases you.

Carol of the Bells

Soprano

Verse:

*Hark how the bells, Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say, Throw cares away.
Christmas is here, Bringing good cheer,
To young and old, Meek and the bold.
Ding dong ding dong, That is their song.
With joyful ring, All caroling.
One seems to hear, Words of good cheer
From everywhere, Filling the air.
Oh how they pound, Raising the sound,
O’er hill and dale, Telling their tale.
Gaily they ring, While people sing
Songs of good cheer, Christmas is here.
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.
*On on they send, On without end,
Their joyful tone, To every home. –  Second time around, repeat twice

Verse

Ending:

Ding, dong, ding, dong.

Alto

Verse:

Ding dong, ding dong.
One seems to hear, Words of good cheer
From everywhere, Filling the air.
Oh, how gaily they’re ringing out now.
Gaily they ring, while people sing,
Songs of good cheer, Christmas is here!
Ding, ding, dong,
Ding, ding, dong.
Ding, dong, ding, dong.

Verse

Ending:
Ding, dong, ding, dong.

  1. I think the comments on this page are getting mixed up and aren’t organized by the dates anymore, because at the bottom of the page, the comment was made on September 24, and it wasn’t like that a few days ago.

    1. I made a change (when trying to fix the other comment problem) to have the new comments appear at the top rather than the bottom. Still working on the other issue.

  2. Mr. Liddle, I think there is a glitch where you can’t post a new comments thread under the video and songs of the week anymore, because the latest song that people have commented on at all is “DIWALI MUBARAK! HAPPY DIWALI TO OUR HINDU FRIENDS IN OUR COMMUNITY.” Also, I tried to comment on the latest video but I can’t figure out how.

    1. Each comment has to be approved so sometimes it doesn’t go through right away. Let me know if it’s still not there though.

  3. All of the videos are great, and I like that the journal entries are mostly opinions. That way, we get to have a small debate in class.

  4. Mr. Liddle, are you going to post the other songs that we have right now like Autumn Vesper? That would be nice, because some of the songs are just so beautiful.

  5. HI!!!
I am not sure if i am right, butI think in the ‘I wont give up ‘ song you cut off two beats when we are supposed to sing the I dont want to be someone who walks away so easily part. I might be wrong, but please check. PS, this is a great web sight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. For the song i wont give up on you at the part where it goes like ”and in the end your still my friend at least we did intend” instead of intend it says inter.

  7. don’t forget to see the lyrics for ‘I Won’t Give Up’! I think the same mistake is still there: I believe that it’s supposed to be “And in the end, you’re still my friend; at least we did intend for us to work.” instead of ” And in the end, you’re still my friend; at least we did inter for us to work.” Thanks!

  8. Hey Mr. Liddle, I’m not sure if its just my phone and computer, but I think the time is wrong for the comments, so for example, I’m posting this at 5:58-5:59, and the time says a different time, like 9:57 or something(I think just the hour is wrong). I thought I’d just let you know because I was wondering why people would stay up late to post a comment…Haha, Nahom A. posted that comment at 2 a.m.!

    1. Jason Mraz made some other great songs too, like I’m Yours. Just search Jason Mraz on YouTube and you will probably find a lot of stuff.

  9. Wow I love e rise up Mr liddle I fill like Haley aout this web site but I wise every class have this kind of web site but it doesn’t but we are lukey we have you tanks for the web site Mr. liddle thank you u again for the web site

  10. I think there might have been a mistake in ‘I Won’t Give Up’. I believe that in the second to last verse/paragraph, it’s supposed to be “intend to work” instead of “inter to work.”

    1. Im soooo hippp! This website is so easy!
(BTW if u see this Mr. Liddle, just note im in ur 2nd period doing my homework!!!!!!)

  11. I love it is good but it is mixing up on me wit the old and new one and I ting there is a problem in this music and the one I soud it in you tube but the web site is so great I love it

  12. This is a really great website, Mr. Liddle! It’s great that the music is on this website, so that whenever I feel like singing, I won’t forget what to sing. I think it would be better if in the lyrics for the songs, it was a little bit more organized by measures or brackets so that just in case you know the melody but not the rhythm, you would still be able to find it right there.

    1. Thanks for the feedback Jennifer. I’m glad you enjoy the access to the music. I’ll look at the text section…it’s hard to organize in a way that doesn’t take up too much space on the page. But thanks again for the feedback!
